How do you pronounce the name of the City and what does it mean?
The American pronunciation of the city's name is "Haver-dee-Grace." In French, it translates to "Harbor of Beauty" or "Harbor of Grace."

What other Museums are there in town?
Along with the Maritime Museum, there is the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum, the Concord Point Lighthouse and Keeper's House, the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House and the Steppingstone Farm Museum.

Yes, the City of Havre de Grace offers public restrooms in Tydings Park, on Lafayette Street across from the Maritime Museum, near the Lockhouse, and at Frank J. Hutchins Memorial Park.

What is the Promenade?
The Promenade is a lovely, approximately half-mile, boardwalk which winds along the water's edge, between the Concord Point Lighthouse and Tydings Park.
Can I feed the ducks and squirrels on the Promenade?
No, please refrain from feeding the animals as they could get sick from "human food."
How long has the Maritime Museum been around?
The Museum was established in December of 1987. It has been in various buildings since its incorporation. Construction on our current building was completed in 2001 and we have been here and loving it ever since.
