Annual Summer Concert Series - Magpie

scaled_1024 (35).jpg

Magpie is the duo of Greg Artzner and Terri Leonino. Accompanying themselves chiefly on guitar and mandolin (with a little harmonica thrown in), the two add soaring vocal harmonies that keep their music airborne. Their songs are culled from their years of working aboard sailing vessels like the Clearwater. Their music resonates with themes of environmental renewal. Another powerful component of their performance are songs of human justice, including a repertoire of songs about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, which historians claim led straight through the heart of Havre de Grace and onto a ferry that carried fleeing bondsmen across the Susquehanna River. Magpie invites the audience to sing along. Laced with humor and history, their music stays with you long after the instruments have been put away. Learn more at: www.magpiemusic.com.

The concerts are presented to a seated audience inside the museum's air-conditioned building at 100 Lafayette Street in Havre de Grace. Wine and beer are available for sale. Admission is $10 per person. There is ample parking and the building is handicap accessible. For more information, call us at (410) 939-4800.

The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum Summer Concert Series is brought to you with the support of the Maryland State Arts Council and donations from the general public. Thank you.
