The Secret World of Zooplankton: Lecture with Kathy Baker-Brosh

Explore the mysteries of zooplankton -- microscopic creatures living in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Learn about their life habits in this interactive lecture and lab for all ages. Bring your cell phone to take photos and videos of these "inconspicuous" inhabitants of our waters. Cost to participate is $5/person and registration must be completed in advance.

Kathy Baker-Brosh serves as the Research Naturalist at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center in Abington, a National Estuarine Research Reserve site in Maryland. At the Estuary Center, she orchestrates on-site Citizen Science research and monitoring of zoo-plankton, mentors research projects of summer university interns, organizes the annual Bio Blitz, teaches laboratory programs, and coordinates the speaker series. She received her PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
