Christine & the Road King Concert at Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum hosted Christine and the Road King on September 7. They are known to whip up a veritable feast of folk, Americana, roots and acoustic blues to bluegrass, country-eastern to Celtic and Western and the Maritime tradition.

They stir in a dollop of comedy, not to mention a few outrageous parodies. These days, when problems are caused by prior solutions, Ray Owen (the "Road King") dispenses his topical musical comedy as an antidote for the craziness of our terminally earnest world.

Ray's latest album release achieved national airplay and was selected as a candidate for a Grammy nomination. He has performed with such legendary entertainers as Garth Brooks, Arlo Guthrie, Bill Monroe, and Bob Hope, and he's been on tour with Willie Nelson and the band America. Bryan Denson of the York Daily Record described Ray's performance as, "Hotter than hot ...the wunderkind one man show of shows." He was highlighted in the Philadelphia Inquirer as "One of America's premiere outdoor fair and festival performers."
