Havre de Grace Maritime Museum Sets up Boat at JoRetro

In keeping with a summer theme and boating on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is collaborating with JoRetro to provide a summertime maritime ambiance to the front window at their store located at 137 North Washington Street in Havre de Grace.

This boat, the Chessy, is a 16-foot wooden hull fishing and crabbing boat. The boat was built by the talented men of the Maritime Museums Boat Shop in 2016. It is made of oak, poplar, and pine is based vintage 1948 drawings in Mechanics Illustrated . The boat is equipped with a rebuilt vintage 1948 Johnson Sea Horse 5 horsepower outboard engine.

The boat looks amazing in JoRetro’s front window and certainly emphasizes our maritime heritage in the City. Stop by and take a peak and be sure to visit inside the store too. Lots of amazing items are waiting just for you!
