Incredible Insects Class

  • Havre de Grace Maritime Museum 100 Lafayette Street Havre de Grace, MD, 21078 United States (map)

Join us for Incredible Insects, a fun and hands-on family class where kids and adults explore the amazing ways insects help our world. Led by Miss Valerie, a former Girl Scout who loves nature, this session will take you on a journey through the lives of bugs—from how they keep our environment healthy to the surprising things they give us, like silk and honey. We’ll learn about their habitats, watch a short video, and then build real bug hotels using recycled materials. These insect homes will stay at the museum to teach others and support local wildlife. Whether you think bugs are cool or just want to learn something new, this class is a great way to connect with nature, try something creative, and enjoy time together as a family. Come see just how awesome tiny creatures can be—you might leave with a whole new view on insects!

Pre-registration is required - classes fill up quickly. Though pre-payment is not required, we encourage you to do so to guarantee a spot in the class. The cost is $5 per person. Admission to the Maritime Museum is FREE with the purchase of the class. This event is open to families with children ages 5 years through 10. Families are encouraged to attend together. Parents must accompany children. To ensure that the class goes smoothly, please arrive at least 5 minutes early.
